La structuration en balises Hn doit globalement décrire le contenu de la page. D'une façon générale, est-ce qu'en lisant le contenu des balises Hn ci-dessous, je comprends de quoi parle la page ? C'est la question essentielle...
Une balise H1 peut contenir 5 à 7 mots descriptifs et parfaitement décrire ce que propose la page (son contenu est souvent assez proche du début du Title).
On peut sauter des niveaux de Hn (passer de H3 à H6 par exemple).
En pratique, les niveaux Hn peuvent ne pas se suivre (on peut mettre un H6 avant un H1 par exemple), même s'il est plus "propre" et logique de les agencer de façon logique.
On peut mettre plusieurs balises H1 dans une même page, mais il est souvent plus logique de n'en mettre qu'une, représentant le titre éditorial du document.
Si la balise Hn est sur une image, des parenthèses sont affichées. Entre ces parenthèses sera indiqué le contenu de l'attribut ALT de l'image, car ce texte est lu par les moteurs. Exemple : H1 : (alt="contenu de l'attribut alt de l'image").
