With 36 acres of vines of both red and white grapes in production, Château de Fayolle is dedicated to making fine wine of an authentic, yet modern character. Since 1254, the wines of Bergerac, Saussignac and the Périgord have been served at the finest tables across Europe. <p>No, you are not dreaming, Fayolle is truly an authentic medieval castle, built in the 1480’s by Jean Joubert de Fayolle on the site of an even older fortress called Rappevacque which was destroyed in the 1300’s during the Hundred Years War. The walls surrounding the castle date to the Rappevacque fortress. Guests are encouraged to stroll around the grounds of the château and see the Chapel, built in 1518 by Jean Joubert’s grandson François, the 18th century dovecote, the vines, the old windmill (currently in ruin) and the charming lake at the bottom of the property.</p> </div>
